We believe that singing is our natural human birthright. Humans were meant to sing, and we provide a wonderful place for anyone who wants to sing, to join an energetic, enthusiastic group of ordinary people who sing for the pure  joy of singing.

EveryBodySings! singing circles were founded by Cyndi Doell and Shirley Whitelaw in 2001, to provide a fun, safe place for anyone of any age or ability to sing. Cyndi and Shirley are powerful, energetic, fun, choir and workshop leaders, who truly believe that everyone can sing, given the right encouragment and atmosphere for vocal development.

Both Cyndi and Shirley come from singing families, where singing was a natural way of life. They have taken or sponsored singing workshops with Brian Tate, Tony Backhouse, Shivon Robinsong, Denis Donnelly, Eric Dozier, Edwin Coppard and others. 

Because they believe in the tranformational power of singing, they love to encourage and inspire others to: discover and/or reclaim their voices, to express their own creativity, and experience the  joy of singing.

Cyndi and Shirley sing together as a duo, Denim and Diamonds, at senior’s homes in the Central Vancouver Island area and other venues, and in a trio with Ewan Cameron as Island Skye. Cyndi C , as a solo act, accompanys herself on piano, singing originals and vintage folk, pop and country songs.

 

SCENT FREE! All our workshops and singing groups are SCENT FREE! Many people are sensitive to scents and it affects their breathing. Please respect this.

EveryBodySings! and the EveryVoice Singers- a group-singing experience. 

Our singing clubs are relaxed, informal and fun; singing world music: African, Maori, Latin, etc; and gospel songs with spirit, joy and enthusiasm!
Our singing is acappella (unaccompanied) in 3 and 4-part harmony. 
There are no auditions, no singing or sight reading experience is necessary, just a desire to sing with others.  
All songs are taught by ear while we sit or stand in a circle, which enables us to see and hear each other, sharing the joy and energy of singing together.
